FEEBLE LITTLE HORSE POCKET

Pittsburgh quartet feeble little horse are gearing up release their sophomore record Girl With Fish, now they release the third single 'Pocket'. Having already shared the glitched out shoegaze inflected 'Tin Man' and 'Steamroller', new track 'Pocket' (initially) shows the band at their softest and most melodic, the chorus 'do you wanna be in my pocket?' sung with an almost nursery rhyme sweetness over melodic keyboard lines and their collage style production - before it dives headfirst into layers of distortion, screamo vocals and noise. Lyrically the song addresses the displaced feelings after a relationship ends, “For me ‘Pocket’ was a song about being single and not knowing what to do with myself,” bassist and lead vocalist Lydia Slocum explains. “I got in the habit of showing someone affection and I liked it but then that ended and I just had all these kisses and hugs burning a hole in my pocket! I felt locked out often and like I was just stuck haunted by my old love and it felt like a dead man that wouldn’t leave me alone because the thoughts of it were so intrusive and repetitive.” Girl With Fish is set for release on 9th of June on Saddle Creek Records and already shaping up to be a worthy successor to their much loved debut Hayday. -Toby Evans-Jesra
